ArtSnacks Box for March 2019

In March the ArtSnacks Box featured Ecoline products including watercolor ink and a brush pen. For those who want to try out these supplies for themselves, I have included my Amazon Affiliate links down below.

When I opened the box this is what I saw. A new brush pen!

Cutie Boots liked the purple pen. He could bite it the easiest!

The first supply that I received was a Kingart Inkline pen. This pen had a 0.45 mm nib and purple ink. The ink was waterproof and lightfast. This pen is available in a set of 16 for $7.07 on Amazon.

The second item was a Caran d'Ache Swiss Wood HB pencil. This pencil has a light color and is made of pine. This is available on Amazon in a drawing set with two Swiss Wood pencils for $19.36.

The next item was another Caran d'Ache Swiss Wood HB pencil and it had a dark wood color. It was made of beech wood.

Then there was an Ecoline Brush Pen with a brush tip nib. I received a blue color. This ink is watersoluble and can be used to make a watercolor wash.  You can find it in a pack of 10 pens for $22.00 on Amazon.

Last there was a bottle of Spring Green Ecoline ink. This was a watercolor ink and can be used for watercolor washes. Amazon has this in a set of ten for $40.87.

Then there was the art supplies list, an ArtSnacks sticker, a special commemorative pin for ArtSnacks' 6th birthday,  and a Dum-Dum lollipop.

Doodlin ' Time !

The Ecoline watercolor ink seems to make a nice smooth wash on the paper. The Ecoline Brush Pen makes a nice color wash, but it doesn't seem to spread as well as the watercolor ink. The KingArt Inkline pen makes nice thin lines for detail work. The Caran d'Ache pencils are nice for sketching.

 'Bookworm on a Toadstool'

by Ellie Taylor

Since the main supply color that I received was green, I thought I'd draw a bookworm. I used the Caran d'Ache Swiss Wood pencils to sketch the bookworm and toadstool.  Then I used the blue Ecoline Brush Pen to color the toadstool. I used the Spring Green Ecoline watercolor ink to paint the bookworm, grass, stem of the toadstool,  and add a splashes of color in the background. I blended the Ecoline Brush Pen with the Spring Green ink to get a bluer green color and add a little shading to the bookworm and toadstool. I added the final details to the bookworm and toadstool with the Kingart pen. I think it works best if you let the watercolor ink dry completely before you add try to add details with the Kingart pen because I had a little trouble making the details while the paper was still wet. This was a good box to try out Ecoline products and see if you like them.
