The Art Tarte Box for July 2018
For July I had a brand new box to review! I decided to try out the Art Tarte subscription box. This box is an art and stationary box with supplies for art or scrapbooking. For those who want to try these out for themselves, I have included my Amazon and MisterArt affiliate links down below. I have also included my Amazon UK and Canada links separately because the Onelink code doesn't seem to be working on this blog.
The box has a neat paint motif on it.
When you open the box this is what you see. That doughnut patch is cute!
The first item that I received was a doughnut pen. This was an ordinary ballpoint pen with a doughnut eraser on the cap. Supercute! You can get some pens like this on Amazon in a set of four at $6.59.
The doughnut pen was Cutie Boots' favorite supply!
He had a really good time with it.
Too much of a good time! I had to rescue the pen before he chewed the doughnut off of the lid!
The second item in the box was a Prismacolor Turquoise Drawing Pencil. This pencil has a drawing pencil lead and isn't colored. These are available at Amazon in a set of 12 for $9.00.
Third there was a woodless Arteza watercolor pencil. The color I received was orange. You can get these in a set of 24 for $16.14. Keep an eye out for special deals and coupons on this brand at Amazon.
The fourth item was a Faber-Castell Eraser Pencil with a brush. These are great to use for charcoal drawings. These can be purchased in a pack of 3 for around $8.97 on Amazon.
Then there was a Uni Posca Metallic Paint Pen. The color was Silver and had a 0.7 mm nib. This pen is available for $14.89 in a 3 pack on Amazon and $2.29 at Misterart.com when you join their VIP club.
The next art supply was a red Uni-Ball Signo gel roller ball pen. This pen also has a nice ergonomic grip and retractable point. These retail for around $4.50 per two pack.
The last art supply was a Prima Marketing watercolor pencil. I received a purple color. You can find this color in a set of 12 on Amazon for $14.38.
There was also a cloth doughnut patch and five different doughnut stickers. These look good enough to eat! You can find variations of these on Amazon.
For the stationary part there was a card with an envelope and a doughnut design on it.
Finally there was a card with a Bob Ross quote, the supplies list, and cherry fruit candy.
Doodlin' Time!
The Uni-Ball Signo gel pen was a bright red pen and wrote very smoothly. The Doughnut Pen has ordinary blue ink and is great for note taking. The Prismacolor Turquoise Drawing Pencil works great for quick sketches. The Arteza Woodless watercolor pencil has bright pigment and dissolves very nicely when water is added. The Prima Marketing watercolor pencil is a very pretty purple color. The Uni-Posca Metallic Paint marker was a nice silver color and probably would show up best on a black piece of paper.
'Colorful Doughnut'
by Ellie Taylor
I used the Prismacolor Turquoise Drawing Pencil to make the beginning sketch of the doughnut. Then I used the orange Arteza Woodless watercolor pencil to make the main color of the doughnut and blended it with water. I used the purple Prima Marketing watercolor pencil to make the icing. Then I used the red Uni-Ball Signo gel pen and blue Doughnut Pen to make the sprinkles on the icing. I also used the purple Prima Marketing and Doughnut Pen to make the shadow.
This is a really neat box and it's fun to receive cute stuff like the doughnut pen and stickers. The art supplies are good quality and the stationary card was nice. I recommend this box if you want a mixture of products for art work or supplies for your daily planners.
You can get this box on a monthly subscription. The boxes start at $25 a month with free shipping for the USA. I think they offer international shipping, but they don't say if it is free or not. Check them out at https://www.arttarte.co/
