March 2018 ArtSnacks Box

This March was the 5th birthday of ArtSnacks. They put some neat things to celebrate in the latest ArtSnacks box including a nice monogrammed pencil case. If you want to try some of these supplies for yourself, I have included my Amazon affiliate links down below.

When I opened the box this is what I saw. A Copic marker!

The first item that I received was a customized pencil case with the ArtSnacks logo. This is a zippered case with two compartments. It is available in the ArtSnacks store for $13.25 at https://shop.artsnacks.co/

Next there was a Copic Ciao marker. It had a chisel nib and a brush nib. The color I received was Light Pink. You can buy these markers in lots of places including in packs at Amazon, or use a coupon at Michaels.com to get 40% off or at dickblick.com for $3.59 per marker.

Then there were two neat wide grip Farb-Riesen Lyra Color-Giants. The colors that I received were purple and red. You can get these on Amazon in a set of 12 for $17.99. Although these are sort of intended for kids, the big size is very ergonomic for adults.

Last there was a 1.0 mm Copic Multiliner. It had pigmented black ink and was waterproof and smear proof. You can get these in a set of 9 for $22.14 on Amazon.

Finally there was a supplies list, some special ArtSnacks stickers, and a lemon Warhead candy. No way will I be fooled into trying Warheads again! That is the sourest candy I have ever tasted!

Doodlin' Time!

The Copic multiliner makes nice thin lines that don't smudge when you add the Copic Ciao marker over them. The Copic Ciao blends nicely and is a pretty pink color. The Lyra Color-Giants have a soft lead and are comfortable to hold.

'Cherry Blossoms'

by Ellie Taylor

Since I had Light Pink for my Copic marker I decided to draw cherry blossoms. I used the Copic Ciao marker for the base color of the flower petals. Then I used the Lyra Color-Giants to add the darker colors to the center of the blossoms and add details. Finally, I used the Copic multiliner to draw the branches. The Lyra Color-Giants seem to layer nicely and have good coverage.

I really enjoyed this celebratory ArtSnacks box and the pencil case was very nice! The stickers were cute, too!

If you want to try out this subscription box company, their website is http://www.artsnacks.co/ The boxes start at $24 a month with free shipping to the United States. International shipping is available, but it is not free.
