ArtSnacks Box for January 2018
The ArtSnacks Box for January 2018 featured a paint pen with real bristles as well as some water soluble markers. If you are interested in trying some of these supplies for yourself, I have included my Amazon affiliate links down below.

When you open the box this is what's inside. A Posca pen!

The first item that I received was a Uni-Posca PCF-350 brush tip paint marker. The color I got was red. The pen contains a water based pigment ink with a real bristle brush tip. The paint is pushed into the bristles by a button on the end of the pen. You can get this pen for $6.49 at dickblick.com or $4.99 plus $2.49 on Amazon.com.

Second there was a Tombow Fudenosuke brush tip pen. It contains a water-based pigmented ink with a flexible nib. This pen can be found in a pack of two with a soft and hard nib for $7.04 on Amazon.com.

Next there was a 0.7 mm SumoGrip mechanical pencil. This mechanical pencil is ergonomically designed with a wide barrel and a rubber grip. It retails for around $8.04 on Amazon.com.

Last there was two Marabu Graphix Aqua pens. These pens have a brush tip and a fine nib. I received a violet pen and a green colored pen. When water is applied to the ink it spreads out like watercolor. These pens retail in a set of 12 for $19.99 to $35.13 depending on where you get them at either amazon.com or dickblick.com.

There was also the list of supplies, a blue ArtSnacks sticker, and a lifesaver candy.
Doodlin' Time!

The Tombow Fudenosuke pen has a very flexible tip and gives a great calligraphy style look. The Uni-Posca pen is just like using a paint brush. I used a sketchbook to test out the Marabu Graphix pens and their ink spread a little when I added water, but probably needed to be on watercolor paper to work best. I loved the ergonomic feel of the SumoGrip mechanical pencil. It was very comfortable in my hand.

'Red Shoe'
by Ellie Taylor
I did a quick sketch of a red tennis shoe. I used the SumoGrip pencil to start the sketch and added red paint with the Uni-Posca brush pen. Then I used the Marabu Graphix Aqua pens to add some decoration to the shoe and the shoelaces. Then I added the final details with the Fudenosuke brush pen. Overall this was a nice box with some interesting new supplies to try out! I really would like to find more of the SumoGrip pencils because they are very nice.
