ScrawlrBox for October 2017
It's time for my review of the October Scrawlrbox. The box for October 2017 featured Derwent Graphik Line Painters, a Zig Kuretake Writer Twin-Tip pen, and more. For those who want to try these supplies for themselves, I have included my Amazon Affiliate links down below.
When you open the box this what you see. Look a Zig pen and paint liners!
The first item was a set of five Derwent Graphik Line Painter pens in a plastic pouch. They have a 0.5 mm nib and are waterbased. The colors in the set were Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue, and Green Mint. This set is available at Amazon for $21.05.
The next item was an Artline Ergoline 3400 pen with a 0.4 mm nib. This pen has black ink and has a bigger barrel for an ergonomic grip. You can buy a set of three calligraphy Artline Ergoline pens for $9.60 at Amazon.
The third item was a Zig Kuretake Writer Twin Tip pen. This pen is double ended and has a 0.5 mm nib and a 1.2 mm nib with black ink. This pen is designed for lettering and is waterproof and lightfast. You can get a set of these in different colors from Amazon for $9.90.
The fourth item I received was a woodless graphite pencil from Staedtler. This pencil has an HB lead and an eraser. These pencils are available on Amazon in a pack of five for $16.43.
The last item was Hahnemuhle Sketchbook with 125 gsm paper. This notebook is an A6 size which is around 4X5 inches. It is available at Amazon for $6.99.
There was also the items list, a ScrawlrBox sticker, a lemon candy, and a print by the artist of the month. The artist for October was Jodie Beckly. Check out her website at www.copperdesigns.com.au
Doodlin' Time!
The Zig Writer Twin Tip pen is waterproof and permanent. It makes nice lines and works well for drawing. The Artline Ergoline 3400 pen is also waterproof and is very comfortable for drawing. I really like how it feels in my hand. I like that the Staedtler woodless pencil has an eraser on it. The Derwent Graphik Paint pens make nice thin lines and the paint is opaque.
'Autumn Leaves'
by Ellie Taylor
I used the Staedtler woodless pencil to sketch the leaves in the Hahnemuhle Sketchbook. Then I used the Derwent Graphik pens to paint the leaves and background. I spread the paint for the background and on the leaves. I used the paint pens to also draw details on the leaves. I sketched the final details with the Zig pen and the Artline Ergoline pens. The Hahnemuhle sketchbook has fairly thick paper and worked nicely for these paint markers. These were some really neat supplies and I really liked the Ergoline pen a lot.
