ScrawlrBox for July 2017
It's time for another ScrawlrBox unboxing! For July 2017 ScrawlrBox featured Staedtler colored pencils, Kuretake pens, and Artline pens. If you want to try out some of these supplies for yourself, I have included my Amazon Affiliate links down below.
When you open the box this is what you see. Oooh, a Wink of Luna brush pen!
The first item was a set of 12 Staedtler Noris colored pencils. These pencils are highly break resistant. These are available at Amazon for $7.96.
The second item I got was a Kuretake Zig Wink of Luna brush pen. The color I received was Metallic Blue. These pens are like the water brush pens, but they contain ink instead of water. This brush pen retails for around $5.28 on Amazon.
The next item was a Post Chalk Dry Wipe marker. This marker was white and had a bullet nib. The white pen can be found in a set of 5 for $8.75 on Amazon.
Then I got some Artline pens. There was blue 0.6 mm medium nib and a black 0.4 mm fine nib. You can get a pack of twelve 0.4 mm pens at Amazon for $14.95.
Lastly there was an Artline Poster Marker. The color was also blue and it had a 4 mm bullet nib. You can get a set of four metallic Artline Poster markers at Amazon.com or dickblick.com for around $13.95. You can also get some of these markers open stock at dickblick.com. They have different nib sizes there, too.
There were also two sheets of paper. The brand name wasn't listed, but they seemed to have the same texture as Strathmore colored pencil paper. I really like the Strathmore colored pencil paper and you can get a 6X8 inch pad of it at Amazon for around $5.54.
There was also a list of supplies, a print from the artist of the month, and a ScrawlrBox sticker. The artist of the month was Sydney Nielsen. Check her art out on instagram @sydney_nielsen_art. There was also some Fizzers candy and it tasted like fizzy Sweetarts. Those were fun!
Doodlin' Time!
The Artline pens make nice thin lines and the Artline Poster Marker is a very pretty blue color. The Kuretake Wink of Luna ink has a shimmery look and has nice coverage. The Staedtler Noris colored pencils are bright and vibrant. The Kuretake Post Chalk Dry Wipe marker works best for me as a blender for the colored pencils rather than as a highlighter.
'Peacock Mask'

I decided to paint a peacock feathered mask with the Staedtler Noris colored pencils and used the Post Chalk Dry Marker to blend them. I had to be careful not to peel up the paper with the Post Chalk Dry marker because it has a rough nib. The Artline Poster marker and the Wink of Luna brush pen worked nicely for painting the feathers and gave them a nice shimmer. The Artline pens worked well for the final details. This was a neat box with some fun new supplies to try out!
