ArtSnacks Box for August 2017
I just received my August 2017 ArtSnacks box! This month's box featured Amsterdam acrylic ink, Zig and Faber-Castell pens, and a Princeton paintbrush. I have included my Amazon and MisterArt affiliate links down below for those who want to try out these products.
When you open the box this is what you see! A new Zig pen! If you've been following my unboxing blogs you'll know that I am a big fan of Zig pens.
The main item in the box was Amsterdam acrylic ink. The color I received was Light Gold. This ink is available at dickblick.com or at Jerry's Artarama. It retails for around $5.29 per bottle.
The next items that I received were a Zig Cocoiro Letter Pen body and the LP Refill. The ink color was black. This pen is made to have different kinds of ink refills and ink tips. The pen body is empty and you buy your choice of LP Refills which come in different colors and nib types. The pen body comes in different colors, too. The different colors of pen bodies are available at Amazon from $1.99 to around $6. The different color refills cost around $2.49 to $4.49 on Amazon.
Then there was a Faber-Castell Ecco Pigment Fibre Tip Pen. It had a 0.7 mm fine tip with black ink. This pen is smudge proof and waterproof. It retails on Amazon for $2.80.
The last item was a #8 Princeton Velvetouch Long Round paintbrush. This brush retails on MisterArt for around $6.39.
And of course, there was the art supplies list, the ArtSnacks sticker, and some Necco sweetarts candy.
Doodlin' Time!
The Faber-Castell pen makes nice dark lines. The Zig Cocoira Letter Pen is interesting because you can change nibs and colors. The Princeton brush did a great job of spreading the Amsterdam acrylic ink on the paper and making thin lines.
"Venetian Mask Pin"
by Ellie Taylor
I decided to draw a Venetian mask pin. The Light Gold acrylic ink had very nice coverage and spread a lot like paint. I really liked the gold color, too. The Princeton brush worked great for spreading the ink. The Zig and Faber-Castell pens were very nice for making the details and fine lines. I really liked this month's box because it had some very nice products in it this time.
