ArtSnacks Sale Box

ArtSnacks was having a great summer sale on some past boxes so I decided to get the August 2016 box which featured a Copic marker and a tube of Daler-Rowney acrylic paint! Between the sale price and a summer discount the box cost $10 plus a little over $2 shipping. Definitely a good deal! I have included my affiliate links for MisterArt in this blog post for those who want to try out these products.

This is what was in the box. Of course I already knew what it was and that's why I bought it.

The first item was a #6 Robert Simmons flat shader paint brush. These are really nice brushes and good quality. This brush ranges in price from $2.53 to $5.99.

Next there was a 75 ml tube of Cobalt Blue Hue acrylic paint from Daler-Rowney. This was the main reason I purchased the box. The price per tube ranges from $3.39 to $6.50.

The other reason I got this box was for the Copic marker! This box had a Copic Classic marker with a bullet and chisel nib. The color I received was Yellow Green. These markers retail from $5.24 to $7.99. You can still find the Classic Copic markers open stock at Michaels.com and dickblick.com.

Last there was a small 3D Zip bag. This is a bag to carry your art supplies in. It expands out and carries quite a few supplies and it is very portable. This retails for $6.50 in the ArtSnacks store.

Then there was the art supplies list, a jolly rancher watermelon candy, an ArtSnacks logo temporary tattoo, and an ArtSnacks sticker.

Doodlin' Time!

I tried out the Robert Simmons paintbrush and it makes a very nice flat stroke and has a good chisel edge. The Cobalt Blue Hue is a very pretty color and will work well for painting skies. The Copic Classic marker blends very smoothly. I really liked the 3d Zip bag and was surprised at how much it expands out. It can hold lots of art supplies and has a good carrying strap.

'Blue Flower'

by Ellie Taylor

I painted a quick and loose version of a blue flower with the Daler-Rowney Cobalt Blue Hue acrylic paint using the Robert Simmons shader paintbrush. I use Daler-Rowney brand acrylics interchangeably with Grumbacher Academy and Liquitex acrylics. This color will make a nice addition to my palette. I used the Copic marker to make the green leaves. It works nicely with acrylic paint and fits naturally with acrylics. The acrylics paint nicely over the markers. I really liked everything in this box and the supplies are things that I use all the time. Plus I got this box for a great price!

If you want to try out this subscription box company, their website is http://www.artsnacks.co/ The boxes start at $24 a month with free shipping to the United States. International shipping is available, but it is not free.
